Biography
Kayla Habermehl is a scientific storyteller with more than a decade of experience crafting compelling narratives that inform and inspire.
As Van Andel Institute’s science communications strategist, she is responsible for translating research discoveries into an array of communication vehicles, from news releases and videos to social posts and public presentations. She supports several strategic initiatives, including comprehensive media, marketing and recruitment campaigns.
Kayla earned her B.A. in journalism (minor: zoology) and a B.S. in anthropology from Michigan State University and her Master of Public Health from MSU College of Human Medicine. She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and the American Public Health Association.
