Science Education

Van Andel Education Institute (VAEI), led by Dr. Gordon Van Harn, is dedicated to strengthening science education and preparing and motivating individuals to pursue science or science-related professions. 

Programs and initiatives include:

• The Science Academy, which offers science education programs for elementary and middle school students and teachers and the community
• Van Andel Institute Graduate School Ph.D. program to prepare students for a career in biomedical research
• Professional development opportunities for educators

There are also several training opportunities available for high school, college / university, and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows that allow them to work in Van Andel Research Institute labs.
